York Health Economics Consortium is a company wholly owned by the University of York. It was established in 1986 to extend the range of the University’s services to the health care sector.  Our purpose is to provide consultancy and research in health economics and systematic reviewing to the NHS, pharmaceutical, nutrition and health care industries.

Our strengths lie in our ability to combine rigorous research standards with efficient project delivery to meet client requirements. As well as having a multidisciplinary team of over 35 staff, YHEC often draws on the specific expertise of staff in related academic departments at the University of York. We have extensive experience working with providers and commissioners in the NHS and Pharmaceutical Industry, as well as strong links with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE); acting as NICE’s Economic and Methodological Unit and External Assessment Centre.

YHEC is a member of the international MINERVA network which brings together the expertise, experience and energy of the leading health economics consultancies in Europe and North America. See www.minerva-network.com for details.
